My Reasons Why!

I left a fairly long and successful career in advertising and marketing to open my first studio. I was teaching Pilates and Spinning on the side but I knew I wanted to do more Pilates and less Advertising. It’s been over a decade since I made that leap and my reasons why continues to grow.

I knew I wanted to help people feel batter in their body and share the magic of Pilates. I could not have predicted the connections I would make and the opportunities I would have to really impact someone’s life. I say that not to pat myself on the back because the student is doing the work and showing up … I am simply their guide.

In the last few weeks here are a few of my reasons why:

An 87 year old student who had never done any organized fitness told me she is noticing her posture improving and her arthritic knee bothering her less. She is already seeing benefits after 4 sessions!

Another client who came to me with chronic back pain just returned from a vacation with her husband. They went deep sea fishing - one of their passions and one she had forgone due to her back in the past. Her doctor told her she would not be able to do this again. She was so excited to tell me she went fishing and didn’t hurt her back! They have already scheduled another trip!

Another women told me her husband commented on her new Pilates curves. We all know if feels so good when someone else notices!

I’ve also watched countless friendships blossom in the studio. I love seeing our students create their own tribe and look forward to seeing each other.

These are just a few examples but to me they are my Why. They are what makes my work interesting and rewarding. It’s what gets me excited each day!
