Impact!

A few days ago I saw that a friend and former Pilates student of mine in Nashville had graduated from Pilates Teacher Training! This made me so happy, and I was really excited for her! I was her first Pilates teacher, and I take a little pride in the fact she fell in love with Pilates under my guidance. I am sure she could have begun with someone else and maybe the result would be the same but … it feels really good to know you have made an impact on someone else. It feels really good to see you shared what you love with someone else and they fell in love with it, too!

Then this weekend I had the chance to take a Pilates class. I honestly don’t know if I have taken a Pilates class anywhere else this year?? It felt great to be in a studio as a student again! And low and behold the other student in my class was another of my former Nashville students who is now also a Pilates teacher! Our instructor also remembered me from when I taught in Nashville as well. It’s been almost three years and I was surprised by this impact I had.

I truly believe when you follow your passion it shows. I also believe when you follow your passion you aren’t thinking about or worrying about your legacy or how many people are noticing. You do what you think is right and what makes you feel purposeful and content. So it’s nice to have these reminders years later that the time I spent teaching in Nashville impacted lives for the better. It’s nice to be remembered. It’s heartwarming to see your passion spread to others. I believe our impact is often greater than we realize.
