Surviving Winter

We’ve had a fairly mild winter here in Kentucky with only a few sub freezing days and just a dusting of snow so far. That being said, it’s been gray and damp and the kind of weather that makes you want to curl up on the sofa not head to the studio or go after your goals. Keeping My Balance

A few years ago, my car had a safety recall with the driver’s seatbelt. While I waited for the new part to come in, I was given a loaner car to drive. A few days into driving this car, I noticed it seemed to pull to the right a bit. I also noticed some shaking in the steering wheel. It was a newer luxury car so this was not to be expected.  I checked the settings and diagnostics on the car and realized one of the tires was low on air. The car was out of balance.

It's a Process

True confessions I’m a Pilates Teacher, and I still can’t do a perfect roll up. I’ve been working on it for years, and I’ve made progress but I’m not where I want to be yet. Physical Therapy and Pilates!

It’s becoming more and more common to see a Pilates Reformer in a Physical Therapy office. I think that is wonderful! After all Joseph Pilates began rehabilitating injured soldiers during the war and then later working with injured ballerinas. Pilates is rooted in finding symmetry in the body and creating balance where there is imbalance.

I'm a Badass?

I was hanging out with a friend the other day and the conversation of the studio, my goals, and such came up. My friend said to me “You are a Badass!” I was a little taken aback because that’s not how I’ve ever described myself! I was also very grateful for the compliment and at the same time not sure I was worthy of it.
