Slow Down

I’m a type A personality and this has served me well in many ways. My drive and goal oriented nature has kept me pushing to succeed despite obstacles along the way. I am doer and I tend to take on a lot. I enjoy being busy and accomplishing new things. I love checking items off my to-do list. But there is also a down side to being type A. I have a hard time slowing down and taking a break. Running my body at high speed and under stress is a recipe for a bad sleep, weekend immune system and a crash in energy.

First Step

The other day I went to climb the Victory Stairs in Verrado. It’s 300 plus stairs into the side of a mountain. When you are standing at the bottom it can look very foreboding! It’s a lot of stairs! In reality it took me less than 10 minutes to climb those stairs. And looking down from the top … it sure looked a lot less intimidating. I am not going to say it was a piece of cake but it was less challenging than I had made it out to be in my mind!

Overf the course of 3 days we laarned more than 200 Pilates Suspension moves on the suspension apparatus with Rebecca Beckler. She is wonderful and a wealth of knowledge.I highly recommend you follow her and train with her if you get the chance. We spent about 8 hours a day moving our bodies, challenging our minds. laughing, learning and growing. I loved every minute of it! This was actually my Christmas present to myself attending this retreat.

Thankful

Thanksgiving was last week and I have so much to be thankful for! I moved to Arizona about 8 months ago and the time has really flown by! It dawned on me that I was in Arizona last Thanksiving for a solo trip and get away … when I decide it was time to get serious about moving here. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine one year later I would be an Arizona resident and business owner.
